Becky Vishnefski grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Caddo Magnet in 1988 where she was active on the debate team. Becky earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from LSU Shreveport in 1997. She earned her Juris Doctor from LSU Law in 2000. In law school, Becky was the Articles Editor of the Louisiana Law Review and also competed on the Moot Court Team, winning Best Brief in the Region. She graduated 8th in her class (top 5 percent) and is a member of the Order of the Coif. After law school, Becky did a one year federal clerkship with the Honorable Frank J. Polozola, United States District Court, Middle District of Louisiana.
Becky's legal experience is extensive and widely varied. She was an Associate Attorney with Cook, Yancy, King & Galloway in Shreveport, practicing mainly labor and employment law defense. During that time she also led many training seminars on the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Family Medical Leave Act. Becky also spent three years with the federal court here in Shreveport, clerking for the Honorable S. Maurice Hicks, Jr., United States District Court, Western District of Louisiana. During that time she was also an Assistant Bar Examiner in Federal Civil Procedure. Becky eventually opened her own private practice as the owner of Castillo Law Firm, LLC., a bi-lingual law firm which represented clients primarily in family law, criminal defense and immigration matters.
Becky launched Vishnefski Law Firm, LLC in 2019. She has been listed by SB Magazine as a "Top Attorney" every year since she opened the firm. Becky represents clients in family law matters such as divorce, child custody, paternal rights, community property and adoptions. She also represents out-of-state and military clients in enforcing and modifying custody judgments from other states. A smaller, more focused practice allows Becky to provide highly personalized service to each of her clients. Becky is also qualified as a family law mediator to help parties resolve their disputes outside of the courtroom. Becky has served on the Board of the Shreveport Bar Foundation and continues to represent clients through the Pro Bono Project.
Becky lives in Bossier City with her husband David, who is a detective with the Bossier Sheriff's Office. David retires in August 2023 with 30 years of service in law enforcement. Becky and David love to travel and spend time with their five dogs (three yorkies, a Biewer, and a rescue). Becky's son Patrick lives in Shreveport and works as the Director of Cyber Security at a national IT support service provider. Becky's newest love is her grandson, Thomas Gerard, who was born on Halloween of 2021. He shares his Halloween birthday with his Grandpa Dave and his maternal grandmother.
Since the pandemic began, Becky Vishnefski has been working from her home office in North Bossier. But given all of today's cloud based software, e-signature capabilities and Zoom video conferencing, our practice hasn't skipped a beat! Remote lawyering and virtual law offices are truly revolutionizing the practice of law. And while we pride ourselves for being on the cutting edge of innovation, we still need a fabulous space to meet with new clients and maybe even conduct a family mediation or two. So discovering "The Office Hub" in downtown Shreveport meant two words: Problem solved.
Located at 331 Milam Street, "The Office Hub" is truly a diamond in the rough. This upscale co-working space offers dedicated work areas and private conference rooms in a gorgeous modern environment. The relaxed and inviting atmosphere matches our firm's personality perfectly. One of our clients said it felt like a huge coffee shop. (We call it a "hipster vibe"). The tall ceilings and natural materials are truly spectacular. The photos below are amazing, but even they can't adequately convey the sheer magnitude of this workspace.
"The Office Hub" is in the same building as the downtown Post Office. There is convenient (free) parking right beside and behind the building. The office is open to receive mail and deliveries between 9AM and 4PM Monday through Thursday, but closes from 12PM to 1PM for lunch. Vishnefski Law Firm hours are by appointment only.
